Story time! How did a fabulous couple like Amanda and Josh end up doing a photoshoot in a laundromat in the middle of downtown Ottawa, to celebrate their engagement you may be asking? It all started in a magical land I like to call “The Internet”.
A long time ago, a guy and a girl met online and hit it off immediately. They stayed up all night talking and getting to know fun little details of each other, like the fact that he loved the band “Third Eye Blind” and loved the idea of meeting a girl at a laundromat, courtesy of their song “An Ode to Maybe”.
After some time, they decided that the time was right to meet each other, and as luck (or charm!) would have it, they arranged to meet for the first time at a laundromat before heading out to a fun filled day of date-activities!
Time passes, and now the guy and girl are deeply in love. They decide to recreate their first date, and after a fun day of date-related activities they end up at the laundromat where they first met.
He then proposes right then and there, she says yes, and celebrations ensue! A little while later, they are looking for a photographer, they found me and here we are!
The end
It was a lot of fun to shoot at the laundromat, since the place has seen better days, but still has a certain charm to it. “Not working signs”, different types of washing machines, colorful seats. It was also small, so getting tight pictures was definitely a challenge! But Josh and Amanda were up to it, and we all had a good time (and a few laughs!), and the moral of the story is that love is not a place. Anywhere is a good place for love with the right people =)
I love these pictures Chris!!!!
Thanks ^_^
The shoot was fun to do. It helps an easy-going couple in front of the lens 😉
